Dental Tourism in Asia/Pacific

India

In India, medical tourism provides opportunities and attracts 1 million tourists per year, contributing up to $ 5 billion to its economy, according to a study of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

India, which is already famous for its temples, its ashrams and yoga, is now the "smiles" for its tourists, as it became a distribution center for dental care.  The region's most famous for dental tourism is Dabo, which attracts a large number of patients in private dental clinics.

A popular destination in Asia, India offers dental services respecting international standards of high art technology and modern facilities.  The country has several international dental clinics, where tourists from the United States, Canada, Great Britain and other European countries come for treatment for over 20 years now.

Because of its high quality treatment and very competitive prices, India is an attractive destination for dental tourism.  Patients pay a lot less than if they received care in Europe, Canada or the United States, even including air fare.  For example, a dental implant can cost U.S. $ 900 in India while the same procedure can be charged U.S. $ 3500 in the United States. It is therefore possible to have its teeth fixed at a reasonable cost and at the same time make your holidays memorable and enjoy the different hues of mystic India.

Thailand

The medical tourism industry has become a full part affair in Thailand: The Kingdom has hosted over one million "medical" tourists in 2006 for an estimated turnover of  36.4 billion baht (about $ 1 billion).  Customers come from around the world, particularly from the Anglo-Saxon countries (USA, Canada, Australia), and, since September 2001, Persian Gulf countries for whom a visa for the U.S. United States has become problematic.  The clinic "Bumrungrad" of Bangkok, which is the largest private hospital in the country, and which has extensive experience in the treatment of foreigners, employs 600 doctors and specialists all trained in Europe or North America, and has hosted tens of thousands of patients from a hundred countries.

Alongside the medical tourism, dental tourism is growing steadily.  Some tour operators already offer "dental" stays which combine some tourists with a visit in one of the major dental clinics in Bangkok.

China / Taiwan / Philippines / Malaysia

Some tour operators organize dental trips in China, which offers dental care and guided tours to visit the ancient and modern China.

The Philippines are new players in the market for and dental tourism coverage, offering competitive prices for treatments like dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and restorative and prosthetic dentistry.

Several of the best hospitals in Malaysia have excellent dental centers that attract tourists with the low cost of salaries and their high quality.  In addition, there are dozens of private dental clinics across the capital that offer treatment to tourists.  All dental procedures can be obtained.  Cosmetic dentistry is particularly popular with visitors who wish to combine dental services and a vacancy.
